The Mission of The Humane Society of Garland County is to:
- Increase public awareness through a comprehensive, humane education program focused on the proper and humane treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering.
- Accept and provide humane care and treatment to sick, abused, abandoned or neglected animals.
- Prevent all forms of cruelty to animals by every legitimate means.
- Provide a temporary refuge for stray, homeless and deserted animals and adopt such animals into loving homes whenever practical.
- Return lost pets to their rightful owners.
- Operate a low-cost spay & neuter clinic and expand our cooperative programs with veterinarians and governmental and private agencies.
- Avoid euthanasia — while ending suffering in a humane manner, when recommended by a licensed veterinarian — of any animal, which it is impractical to cure of its infirmities.
- Provide volunteer investigators to enforce and maintain our mission to protect the welfare and quality of life of animals.
